Camping as a recreational activity became popular in the early 20th century until now. Campers frequently come to national or state parks, other natural areas, and also some campgrounds. They enjoy nature while spending one or several nights outdoors. There are various kinds of camping venues now where people can not only experience camping, but also other activities such as canoeing, fishing, walking, mountain biking, motorcycling, swimming, and so on. Let’s have a look at popular campsites near Seoul.
Camping on the Han River
Actually, camping requires a lot of preparation. For example, tents, camping site, utensils, the vehicle for getting to camping site and so on. It takes a lot of time to find a nice camping site, get there, and set up a tent. Moreover, it costs a lot of money for tents and diverse tools. These things make you hesitate to go camping. But there’s a solution! You can go camping on the Han River! What you need to prepare is just a little money and someone to go camping with!
From July 19th to August 19th, tents for 4-5 people are available for daily rent at Yeouido, Ttuksoem, Jamsil, and Jamwon along the Han River. People can rent a tent for a day. Reservations can be made by visiting the website http://www.hangangcamping.kr/. You can reserve any tent in 4 other diverse places as you want. People go there and drink and chat a lot until late at night. There are lots of people in the limited space, but no one cares about what you say. Sometimes it may be noisy. If you enjoy the atmosphere, it will be a great night. And if you prefer somewhere more natural or quiet and peaceful, Nanji may be not the best choice. But undeniably, compared with other camping sites in the city, Nanji is very cheap and so convenient that you can even go by subway and without any preparations.

How about Glamping?

Do you know ‘glamping?’ Glamping is a new word for ‘glamorous camping.’ The difference from camping is that the participants enjoy physical comforts, like they do in hotels. You don't need to pitch the tent or unroll a sleeping bag, and you don't have to gather some wood to make fires. The equipment is ready in glamping campsites and they also serve you meals. Glamping is a way to experience the great outdoors without sacrificing luxury.
I'll introduce some glamping sites near Seoul.

The advantage of Plantation is the distance from Seoul. It takes only 40 minutes. Maybe you'll have a barbecue party in the evening. If you nominate the dinner time, the staff will bring a barbecue, charcoal, and other materials to the tent at that time. The American-style brunch is ready for next morning. The price is reasonable even though it includes the barbecue, breakfast, and equipment. Plantation also has various entertainment facilities and cultural spaces. You can experience 'edutainment,' for example, meeting an author, or seeing a permanent famous exhibition. Moreover, it is good for enjoying sport and outdoor activities because of the playground and grass.

In Huevillage, they have designed their own unique tents. It is divided into living room and bedroom, and has two windows at the front and rear for ventilation. In addition, the resort offers portable air-conditioners in summer and heaters in winter. In front of the glamping house, you can do a barbecue party. Huevillage not only serves you the barbecue grill and charcoal, but also all the ingredients free of charge. They also serve toast, soup, egg and juice for breakfast.

Do you remember the campsite which Do Min-Jun visited before leaving Earth in the drama 'Love from Star?' The Ananti Club glamping site is in a 100-year-old pine wood. The Ananti Tree Houses are built on pine trees, and their height is 6m. Their viewpoint is the wide forest scene over the window. You can relax in the dense pine woods. If you reserve the 'Ananti Package', you can enjoy the tracking, racquet club with lunch for 2 people and the tree house. If you reserve the 'BBQ Package', they will include a barbecue dinner. There is a 'Glamping Cinema in Forest', which is free of charge, and you can see a movie with your family or friends. Moreover, there is a lake which offers you fishing equipment, so you can enjoy fishing.

There are many campsites or glamping sites. The first thing you should do is choose where you are going to stay. It’s up to you, which one you choose. And the second thing you should do is set your budget, deciding how much you are willing to spend and compare the camp sites. Some of them are at reasonable prices for students, and others serve equipment and meals so they’re a little bit expensive.

Anyway, just enjoy your camp!
